Honeysip LS

Levosalbutamol

is an effective bronchodilator. It is a single isomer ß2 -agonist that differs from racemic Salbutamol. Levosalbutamol relaxes the smooth muscles of all airways and acts by reducing inflammation in the bronchial tubes.

Ambroxol

is a clinically proven, systemically active mucolytic agent. When administered orally onset of action occurs after about 30 minutes. The breakdown of acid muco-polysaccharide fibers makes the sputum thinner and less viscous and therefore more easily removed by coughing. Although sputum volume eventually decreases, it’s viscosity remains low for as long as treatment is maintained.

Guaiphenesin

acts as an expectorant by increasing the volume and reducing the viscosity of secretions in the trachea and bronchi. It aids in the flow of respiratory tract secretions, allowing ciliary movement to carry the loosened secretions upward toward the pharynx.Thus, increases the efficiency of the cough reflex and facilitate removal of the secretions.

Indications

Used as Bronchodilator, Mucolytic and Expectorant

In management of cough associated with:

• Bronchial Asthma
• Bronchitis
• COPD
• Respiratory Tract Infections

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of Honeysip LS

Precautions and warning

Levosalbutamol, like all other beta-adrenergic agonists, can produce a clinically significant cardiovascular effect in some patients, as measured by pulse rate, blood pressure and/or symptoms. Although such effects are uncommon after administration of Levosalbutamol (in Honeysip LS) at recommended doses, if they occur, the drug may need to be discontinued. Oral Levosalbutamol (in Honeysip LS) should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, especially coronary insufficiency, cardiac arrhythmias or hypertension.

Adults & Adolescents 5-10 ml TID

Children (6-11 Years 6-12 yrs – 5 ml 3-4 times a day

Children : 2.5 ml TID
